MRI Appeal
We need to raise £1.5m to bring state-of-the-art MRI technology to our hospital for the first time.
A dedicated new facility
Every year, approximately 1,300 of our hospital’s women and babies require an MRI scan, 60% of which wait longer than six weeks. Currently, patients are required to travel to a hospital which they might not be familiar with for the next available appointment, and the additional time and travel can be a cause of stress and have a financial impact.
Our patients deserve better.
We want to build a brand-new, innovative MRI suite which will include a state-of-the-art MRI scanner to help diagnose and treat patients across gynaecology, neonatal and fetal medicine, at a time when they need it most.
We’re so grateful to have received a founding gift of £500,000 from The Lounge Foundation to help us on our way, but we need your support to help make our MRI suite a reality.
More capacity, quicker diagnoses
To accommodate the MRI scanner, we will expand the footprint of our ground floor and create a dedicated MRI suite. The new suite will include the latest model MRI scanner, a control room, as well as a reporting room for scans to be analysed. To support the MRI service, a new waiting room, just outside of the entrance of the MRI suite, will also be built along with new toilets and baby changing facilities.
Bringing an MRI to our hospital will significantly improve the experience and outcomes of our patients. It will create more scanning capacity and mean our women and families won’t have to wait longer than necessary to receive the updates they deserve.
We have the specialists. We have the expertise. We have the patients. Now we need an MRI scanner. Can you support us?
