Woodland Walks Could you inspire your family and friends to take part in a Woodland Walk for our bereaved families? Our hospital cares for over 2,000 grieving mums and dads every year who have lost a baby and we need to raise £3.5million to bring Woodland House, a brand-new, purpose-built centre to our hospital, where families can spend time together in safe, secure and serene surroundings before they feel ready to face the world again. Whether you choose your favourite walk in a local park, or a nature trail close by, all sponsorship you raise will make a massive difference to our hospital and the service that our Bereavement Team can give to those experiencing baby loss. We’ll be there to guide you every step of the way with advice on social distancing, how you can share your walk with others on social media, and how to inspire everyone to take part. There are two ways for you to get involved with Woodland Walks and help us to make Woodland House a reality: 1) Organise your own sponsored walk with your family or support bubble (or begin planning your walk for a future date). Register your walk today or get in touch to speak with our Fundraising Team about your plans. 2) Become a Walk Organiser and organise a larger community walk in your area later this year (once restrictions have been lifted). We’re currently recruiting Walk Organisers and you can read the full role profile here and find out how to apply. We will work with you to decide the appropriate venue and date for your event, when it is safe for it to take place and working within government guidelines. You will also receive full training and support to enable you to hold a successful mass walk and also have use of a wide range of resources and equipment.
