Volunteers

One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time.

Thank you so much for considering volunteering at our charity, it’s wonderful that you want to help us improve the lives of our women, babies and families! There are lots of ways to get involved, so it would be great if you could fill out our volunteer application form and let us know how you’d like to help!

Become part of our Charity Action Team

We’re always looking for eager volunteers to help us at our fundraising events, making an impact in their local community and helping to raise vital funds at events both on-site at our Hospital and across the Region! From manning a merchandise stall, helping out with bucket collections, distributing posters, leaflets or collection tins in your area, or giving our runners and cyclists a much needed morale boost as they near the finish line, there are plenty of ways you can help. Full support and training will be provided and we guarantee you an experience that is as rewarding as it is varied.

Knit, natter and make a difference

One great way to volunteer is by knitting! We have so many amazing supporters who donate their time by knitting beautiful blankets and clothes for little ones, which we either donate to our wards for our premature and newborn babies or use to raise money for our hospital. However if you’d like a more hands on role you can get involved in manning our knitting stall, where you’ll need to brush up on your cash handling skills as well as chat to our lovely patients and visitors. For further information about what knitting we accept or about our knitting stall please contact us.

Be the face of our pop up shop

Our fabulous pop up shop sells Birmingham Women’s Hospital charity merchandise as well as a lovely selection of toys and gifts for all ages, and we would love for you to be part of our team! If you enjoy meeting and speaking to lots of different people and have cash handling experience, this would be a fantastic opportunity for you!

Turn your community purple for BWH

Are you a cornerstone of your community with a few hours to spare each week? We would love for you to become one of our collection tin coordinators! You would be responsible for visiting local shops and businesses to ask if they would like one of our branded collection tins, swapping the tins when they are full and returning the full tins to us. Our collection tin coordinators are vital in helping us raise much needed funds for our wards and departments, so if you are passionate about spreading awareness for Birmingham Women’s hospital charity fill out an application form and join our team!

Hospital Volunteers

All of our volunteer opportunities are in support of the fundraising team and the important charitable work that we do. However if you’re over the age of 16 and are interested in volunteering your time within the hospital, you can contact Debbie Coates on 0121 335 8225 or by emailing [email protected].

If you have any further questions you can visit our Volunteer FAQ page or call our friendly fundraising team for a chat on 0121 335 8040. We look forward to hearing from you!
